Easy Bread Sticks

I learn t this easy way of making fresh bread at home in a matter of 30 minutes.Easy bread sticks are made using store bough bread dough. My Checkers always has stock in their fridges closest to the bakery and if you look at the pic below you will see how cheap it is.

Plus there isnt much mess.Simply take out of the bag and divide dough in two.For a family of four half the dough is perfect. Dust your area with some flour and roll out into a  rectangle.

Place 3 – 4 tbs of butter or margarine in the microwave for 30 seconds and then add garlic powder and stir.Using a bastig brush cover your rolled out dough with the butter mixture.

Divide dough in the middle and begin to slice dough into long finger like bread sticks.Place in a preheated oven on 180C for 20-25 minutes.Remove from once they are done and brush them again with the butter mixture (Optional – add fresh or dried parsley to mixture before you brush it one).

They best served warm but really they great anytime.

If you have been following my #soupseries you will know they ideal to accompany any soup instead of croutons.

Checkers LITTLE SHOP Collection

Littleshopmgfa.cover

A while back us parents were running around collecting Stikeez , going on Social media swopping with other moms it was crazy but lots of fun for both children and the parents(well at least it was in our household). Our collection still gets taken out and played with.

So lo-and-behold when I walked in to my local Checkers and found the LITTLE SHOP  Mini Collection,  I grabbed the Collectors Case(R 29.99) straight away (I left this  for last previously and had hubby running around Joburg trying to find a case).

The Little Shop Mini Collection is simple – For every R 150.00 spent you receive one Little Shop item to add to your collection.

I’m in love with their ad – CLICK HERE TO VIEW

My little one recently learned about money at school so we play “shop-shop” daily. He has a little till and all my gift voucher cards are used as debit cards and I have to collect all our cereal boxes and shampoo bottles etc so he can stock the store. Its great fun and he is learning at the same time. The LITTLE SHOP collection arrived at the perfect time.

Next on our list is definitely the Cardboard LITTLE SHOP HOUSE (R 149.00) so we can really make the whole at-home-store more realistic.

Smses have been sent out as well as group Whats App Messages to relatives asking them to please shop at Checkers and keep the kids in the family in mind lol….what we do for our kids!

Good Luck and happy collecting 🙂

Saver Series – Part 4 – Unilever Deals

ic

I’m simply obsessed with saving but I absolutely love shopping , even mundane grocery shopping is fun for me and more so when I know I’m saving at the same time, Black Friday last year was euphoric for me – my dream come true would be if we could coupon like in the States.Think of the show Extreme Coupon.

Well I’ve come across something that is one step closer to coupon heaven. Thanks to Unilever.

I simply registered and now its a quick browse through the specials before I go to the shops and click on the coupons I’ll use so I’m ready when I get to the stores.

Neon Necklace – Easy DIY

mgfaneon-cover

A quick assessment of my wardrobe had me conclude that I’ve got a lot of dark blues and navy clothing.I love to add bright accessories to these such as a gorgeous citrus necklace or cerise and even more so a cute neon yellow something  especially since I have these pretty sandals (see below) to match.

Only problem is that I haven’t been able to find a neon yellow necklace to add to any of my ensembles. So what do you do when you can’t shop?      You DIY.

This was an especially inexpensive project as I spent R30.00 on the necklace at Checkers and because I didn’t want to spend R 100.00 on spray paint since it was such a minute project, I sent out a broadcast message to family and asked if anyone had a neon yellow spray paint bottle lying around in their garage.Within minutes I had an answer.
